This year’s walk will be on Saturday 2nd March and one of our members has kindly offered to guide us on a 4.5 mile walk around Shenley Park followed by refreshments at a cafe in the park. The walk is not too hilly and should take about 2 hours to complete. Address/start point for the walk and website for the Café:
Shenley Park, Radlett Lane, Shenley, Herts, WD7 9DW; www.intheorchard.co.uk
Arrival: 10.00 – Meet at car park next to The Café in the Orchard on Radlett Lane.
Finish: 12.00 – Refreshments/lunch at Café in the Orchard. If you don’t want to walk but just meet up for a social then feel free to go straight to the cafe before or at midday.

The journey from Chorleywood to Shenley Park is about 12 miles mostly on the M25, so subject to traffic approx. 30 mins journey time. Please bring appropriate footwear for walking, bearing in mind that it may be muddy in parts. Please also provide a mobile number for us to contact you on the day in case of wet weather. NB: If the forecast is for rain we may have to postpone.

Winter walks

March 2023
An interesting local walk taking in the Tudor buildings of Old Amersham High Street, the site of the old mill on the river Misbourne, and the path overlooking the Bury Fields. The walk finished with a steep climb to the Martyrs’ Memorial and was followed by a well-deserved cream tea at the Kings Arms.

February 2022
A chilly winter walk in Cookham. An hour and a half circular walk returning along the river bank and finishing up at the Ferry pub for refreshments.
