Saturday 5th October 2024 – Wine Tasting

We have decided to run another wine tasting evening, chez Eileen and James, and hosted by James who ran a very, successful tasting event in 2022. The cost will be £20 pp which will include some lovely cheeses to accompany the fine wines. We’ll start at 7.30pm. Hope you can join us! November 2021 and December 2023: Evening meals in Darmon’s Deli, French bistro in Amersham

An enjoyable French themed dinner evening with great food and wine cooked and served in an authentic French restaurant.

March 2023: French Gourmet Evening at West Herts College – March 23

This French themed dinner had been organised the French language groups of U3A and was held at The Training Restaurant at West Herts College. An outstanding four-course meal cooked by the trainee chefs, with food and wine served by trainee waiters and waitresses, and the whole event overseen by their tutors. A fantastic evening!

November 2022: French Wine Tasting at member’s house

A fabulous wine tasting evening was hosted by two of our members. They took us on a fascinating journey along the Rhône sampling fine wines from the northern and southern Rhône areas. An excellent evening with interesting explanations, not to mention exquisite wines accompanied by some delicious cheeses.

Winters 2018 & 2019: Raclette evening

Traditional raclette suppers were held at the Bridge at St. Andrews where members enjoyed raclette cheese accompanied by platters of potatoes, vegetables, charcuterie and wine in a candle lit environment.
